Karen E. Lum October 23, 1949 - May 19, 2008 58, of Benicia passed away May 19th at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Michigan, earned her bachelors of science degree from Michigan State University and New College in San Francisco. She had been a Benicia resident for the past 15 years. She worked as a PBX operator at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco for more than 20 years. She was an admirer of animals and involved with several animal rescue organizations. Karen is survived by her mother Ruth Lum of Washington, DC; and her sister Mary M. Lum of Vermont. She was preceded in death by her father Vernon Lum in 1976. Memorial service will be held at the National Presbyterian Church, Washington, DC on June 3, 2008. Local arrangements are under the direction of Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, Benicia. 707-745-3130.
