Mark Charles Wintermeyer

Bay City, MI - Mark Charles Wintermeyer, 73, of Bay City, our loyal, intelligent, and welcoming husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. He was born on October 6, 1950, to Charles and Donna (Strachan) Wintermeyer. Mark graduated from Douglas McArthur High School in 1968 and joined the National Guard. He became a Tin Smith Journeyman in 1974 and began his 30-year career with General Motors retiring in 1999.

Mark married the love of his life, Mary Lynn Kowalesky on September 24, 1971. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2021. He loved to golf, boat, and travel, but his greatest passion was spending time with his family.

Left to continue his legacy are his wife, Mary Lynn; daughters, Lauren Ann (Daniel) Olson and Kerry Beth Thorson (Jason Allen); granddaughter, Dylan Mae Thorson; grandsons, Carter Bradley Thorson and Luke Elliot Olson; nephew, Matt (Tricia) Wintermeyer; great-nephews, Max and Charles Wintermeyer; and aunt, Nancy Kozak.

In addition to Mark's parents, Charles T. and Donna G. (Strachan) Wintermeyer, he was preceded in death by his son, Eliot John Wintermeyer; brother, Dean Wintermeyer; aunts, Shirley Torongo and Jean Johnson; uncle, William Strachan; and special cousin, Connie Torongo.

Mark's family will receive visitors on Monday, August 26, 2024, from noon until his Life Celebration at 1:30 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Mark will be interred privately in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
